30 year old full time mechanical engineer working mom who grew up playing sports and ultimately college basketball at Northwestern University. A tough 2 year period of losing my older brother and tearing my ACL provided new strength, desire, and motivation to get into triathlon and masters swimming. I checked off a life long goal of a full Ironman in 2017 after losing hope it would never happen with ACL reconstruction. I've gained a sense of purpose and motivation for training and races which has ultimately recently allowed me to join a team called Team Heart and Sole, where I push physically and mentally handicapped children and adults in races from 5k to half marathon.
